Control Arm Bushings with Fitting Position Front, Rear for 1997 BMW M3 Base

BMW M3 Control arm bushings are the polyurethane bushing kits used to replace worn rubber bushings at the inner and outer pivot positions of the front and rear control arms. Every control arm connects the wheel hub carrier to the chassis through at least two inner pivot bushings and, on applicable designs, an outer bushing at the ball joint housing or arm-to-knuckle interface. The condition of these bushings at every position directly determines how precisely the wheel is located through its travel arc, how consistently the vehicle holds its alignment geometry under dynamic load, and how much of the road and drivetrain inputs at the wheel are transmitted into the chassis as NVH.

Control arm bushing wear is the primary driver of gradual alignment drift, tire wear inconsistency, handling imprecision and front or rear end NVH on high-mileage vehicles across every platform type. As inner bushings deteriorate, the arm pivots with increasing compliance, allowing geometry to shift under braking, acceleration and cornering loads in ways that cannot be corrected through alignment adjustment alone until the bushings are renewed. The control arm bushings range covers Vehicle Master Bushing Kits, Essential and Enhancement Kits, front lower control arm inner forward and rearward individual position kits, front upper inner bushing kits, front upper and lower combined sets for RWD and 4WD, rear control arm bushing sets and individual position kits, geometry correction variants for caster, camber, anti-lift and toe, rear control arm bushing inserts, MAX C universal dimensionally specified bushings, performance inner bushing kits, and commercial truck control arm bushings. Most products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Installation guides are available across most products.

Why Upgrade BMW M3 Suspension?

Control arm bushing wear accumulates progressively across every inner and outer pivot position on the arm. Each bushing that exceeds its designed compliance contributes to a slightly less precise wheel location that compounds with every other worn bushing in the system. The result is a gradual but accelerating degradation in alignment retention, steering response and handling predictability that worsens with every mile and cannot be corrected by alignment adjustment, shock absorber replacement or tire rotation while the bushings remain worn.

On geometry correction variants, a worn BMW M3 inner bushing that has allowed the arm to move beyond its designed arc can introduce caster, camber or anti-lift geometry errors that a standard replacement bushing cannot address. Geometry correction bushing kits at the inner forward or rearward position introduce a controlled offset that simultaneously renews the bushing and corrects the geometry error in a single installation, restoring both compliance and the correct alignment angle from the same service.

Why Purchase BMW M3 Control Arm Bushings?

Control arm bushing renewal is the most direct and structurally complete suspension repair available for addressing the alignment drift, handling degradation and NVH that high-mileage and heavily used vehicles accumulate at the inner pivot level. Renewing the bushings restores correct arm compliance at every renewed position, eliminates the geometry inconsistency that worn inner pivots allow under dynamic load, and returns the front and rear suspension to the correct operating baseline from which every other component on the vehicle performs as designed.

BMW M3 Vehicle Master Kits deliver the most complete renewal across the full vehicle in a single purchase, eliminating the compounding effect of multiple worn bushing positions simultaneously. Individual and combined position kits provide targeted renewal at specific arms and positions identified through inspection or alignment diagnosis, allowing the correct level of renewal to be matched to the actual condition of the vehicle without requiring full vehicle service. Geometry correction variants address both bushing wear and geometry error in a single installation, delivering correct compliance and correct alignment angles from the same service rather than requiring separate bushing replacement and alignment correction hardware.

Installation and Support

BMW M3 Control arm bushing kits are designed for installation at the inner and outer pivot positions of the front and rear control arms on applicable platforms. Installation times range from under an hour for individual position kits and insert renewals to over six hours for full vehicle master kit installations depending on the platform and number of positions covered. Installation guides are available across most products. For additional technical assistance, a dedicated support team is available to confirm correct product selection, geometry correction specification and fitment for the specific vehicle, drivetrain configuration and suspension design.

Repair and Upgrade

BMW M3 Control arm bushings are manufactured from high-strength polyurethane engineered to withstand the sustained pivot loads, road shock, vibration and environmental exposure that front and rear control arm inner and outer positions are subject to in everyday, performance, towing and off-road use. Geometry correction bushing variants are precision machined to deliver the specific caster, camber, anti-lift or toe correction required for the applicable platform and position. Rear control arm bushing inserts deliver polyurethane compliance at the inner bushing interface without requiring shell removal, reducing installation complexity on applicable platforms. Most products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Who BMW M3 Control Arm Bushings Are For

BMW M3 Control arm bushings are a practical solution for:

• Professional shops completing suspension overhauls, high-mileage servicing and alignment corrections on applicable and commercial platforms requiring front lower and upper inner bushing renewal, rear control arm bushing renewal, vehicle master kits or geometry correction bushing installation at any front or rear arm position.
• Performance and enthusiast vehicle owners renewing front and rear control arm inner bushings to restore geometry precision, improve handling response and eliminate NVH and alignment drift on street and track applications.
• Shops and DIY users completing suspension lifts and modifications on applicable platforms requiring geometry correction bushing kits at the inner forward or rearward lower control arm position to address caster, camber or anti-lift error introduced by the modification.
• Fleet and commercial operators completing control arm bushing renewal on applicable trucks, SUVs and applicable commercial platforms requiring correct polyurethane bushing replacement at all inner and outer pivot positions.

The right control arm bushing kit restores correct compliance and geometry at every renewed arm position, eliminates alignment drift and NVH from worn inner pivots, and delivers a suspension system that holds its geometry and performs precisely under every driving condition.
