NOLATHANE Fifth Wheel Bushing for 0

Fifth wheel bushings are the polyurethane bushing kits used to replace worn or deteriorated bushings at the pivot and articulation positions of the fifth wheel coupling assembly on commercial semi trucks. The fifth wheel is the primary coupling interface between the tractor and the trailer, and the bushings at its pivot points control the compliance and articulation of the top plate and locking mechanism as the trailer pivots under the tractor during turns, articulation and load cycling. Worn or missing pivot bushings allow metal-to-metal contact at the fifth wheel articulation interface, contributing to noise, wear and premature deterioration of the coupling assembly components.

The fifth wheel bushing range currently covers the applicable fifth wheel assembly, supplying a correctly specified polyurethane bushing kit for the applicable pivot position on the specific top plate assembly. An installation guide is available. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Why Upgrade Suspension?

Fifth wheel pivot bushings on commercial semi trucks operate under continuous load across every mile of towing, through every turn, every grade change and every dock approach. The pivot position on the fifth wheel top plate assembly articulates constantly under the differential movement between the tractor and trailer, and the bushing at that interface is the compliant barrier that prevents direct metal wear between the moving components. As the bushing deteriorates, wear at the pivot interface accelerates, increasing play in the coupling assembly and allowing noise and movement that shortens the service life of the fifth wheel hardware.

Renewing the pivot bushing with a correctly specified polyurethane alternative restores the correct compliant interface at the pivot position, protecting the surrounding hardware from accelerated metal-to-metal wear and maintaining correct coupling articulation throughout the service life of the installation.

Fifth Wheel Bushing Range

The fifth wheel bushing range includes:

• Fifth Wheel Bushing Kit, Applicable Platform: A polyurethane bushing kit for the pivot position of the applicable fifth wheel top plate assembly on applicable commercial semi truck applications.

Why Purchase Fifth Wheel Bushings?

Replacing a worn fifth wheel pivot bushing at the point of deterioration rather than waiting for visible hardware wear protects the surrounding coupling components from the accelerated metal-to-metal contact that an absent or fully deteriorated bushing allows. The bushing is a low-cost item relative to the fifth wheel hardware it protects, and renewing it at the correct service interval is the most cost-effective way to maintain correct coupling articulation and extend the working life of the fifth wheel assembly.

For fleets and owner-operators servicing applicable fifth wheel equipped tractors, having the correct bushing kit on hand ensures the pivot position can be renewed as part of a routine fifth wheel inspection without requiring a separate parts order to complete the service.

Installation and Support

The fifth wheel bushing kit is designed for installation at the pivot position of the applicable fifth wheel top plate assembly. An installation guide is included with the product. For additional technical assistance, a dedicated support team is available to confirm correct product fitment and installation procedure for the specific fifth wheel assembly configuration.

Repair and Upgrade

The fifth wheel bushing kit is manufactured from polyurethane engineered to withstand the sustained load, articulation cycling and environmental exposure that fifth wheel pivot positions are subject to throughout the working life of a commercial semi truck in commercial towing service. Polyurethane maintains the correct compliant interface at the pivot position for longer than rubber alternatives under the continuous load cycling that fifth wheel applications demand. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Who Fifth Wheel Bushings Are For

Fifth wheel bushings are a practical solution for:

• Fleet maintenance teams and service shops completing fifth wheel inspections and preventive maintenance on commercial tractors fitted with applicable fifth wheel assemblies requiring pivot bushing renewal to protect coupling hardware and maintain correct articulation compliance.
• Owner-operators servicing their own tractors fitted with the applicable fifth wheel assembly who need the correct pivot bushing kit to complete a thorough fifth wheel service and protect the coupling hardware from accelerated wear.

The right fifth wheel bushing kit restores the correct compliant interface at the coupling pivot position, protects surrounding fifth wheel hardware from metal-to-metal wear, and ensures the coupling assembly articulates correctly throughout its service life.
