REVOLUTION Universal Bump Stops with Fitting Position Front and Rear, Front

Universal bump stops are the polyurethane suspension travel limiters used at the front and rear axle, strut, lower control arm and body positions to absorb the impact energy at the end of the suspension travel range and prevent direct metal contact between the suspension assembly and the chassis at full compression. The bump stop sits between the moving suspension component and its chassis contact point and compresses progressively under increasing suspension load, providing a controlled rising-rate resistance that cushions the end of travel impact. Without correctly functioning bump stops, the suspension bottoms out against the chassis with a direct metal impact that transmits a sharp, harsh blow through the vehicle structure at the moment of full compression.

As factory bump stops harden, crack, compress permanently or deteriorate through age and UV exposure, they lose their progressive cushioning response and eventually cease to absorb the end-of-travel impact at all, leaving the suspension to contact the chassis directly. The universal bump stops range covers a wide selection of front and rear bump stop profiles for applicable passenger, performance, 4WD and truck platforms, including universal bushings in bolt-through cylindrical, disk, triangular and round pull-through configurations, front RWD bump stop kits, rear axle bump stop sets for 4WD and RWD platforms including extended and crew cab configurations, lower control arm bump stops, front strut bump stops in standard and adjustable configurations, front upper bump stops, front and rear axle bump stops for 4WD platforms, extended bump stops, rear bump stop sets with travel increase provision, classic-style and round pull-through bump stops, and universal bump stops in ultra-low and standard profile pairs. All products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Why Upgrade Suspension?

Bump stop deterioration is gradual and its effect accumulates slowly, making it easy to normalize the progressively harsher end-of-travel impacts that worn stops allow before the cause is identified. A vehicle that bottoms out harshly over sharp road inputs, speed bumps or during off-road articulation may simply have deteriorated bump stops that have lost their cushioning capacity, rather than a suspension design or ride height issue. Replacing worn stops with correctly profiled polyurethane alternatives restores the progressive cushioning response that correct bump stop condition delivers, absorbing end-of-travel energy before the suspension contacts the chassis and returning a controlled, cushioned bottom-out feel to the suspension's full travel range.

For custom and lifted 4WD applications, extended bump stops and rear axle bump stop sets with travel increase provision allow the suspension travel to be correctly limited at the new ride height, preventing axle contact with the chassis and protecting shock absorbers, springs and driveline components from the overtravel that a standard-height bump stop allows on a lifted vehicle.

Why Purchase Universal Bump Stops?

Bump stop renewal is a low-cost, high-impact suspension service item that directly determines how the suspension behaves at the end of its travel range on every hard road input, speed bump and off-road impact throughout the vehicle's service life. A correctly functioning bump stop set absorbs the end-of-travel energy progressively and cushions the suspension's contact with the chassis, protecting shocks, springs, body mounts and chassis hardware from the direct structural impacts that worn or absent bump stops allow.

The range of profiles available, from universal bolt-through cylindrical and disk formats to platform-specific front and rear axle sets, adjustable strut bump stops and extended bump stops for lifted applications, covers the full spectrum of bump stop requirements from routine renewal on everyday platforms to custom and modified installations where a standard profile is not appropriate.

Compatible Vehicles

Universal bump stops are compatible with a wide range of vehicles, including:

• Applicable RWD and 4WD passenger, performance, and truck platforms requiring front or rear bump stop renewal in the applicable platform-specific or universal profile.
• Applicable 4WD trucks requiring front or rear axle bump stop sets in the applicable standard, extended, crew cab or configuration-specific variant.
• Applicable passenger and 4WD platforms requiring front strut, strut rod or rear bump stop renewal in the applicable platform-specific profile.
• Lifted and modified applicable 4WD and truck platforms requiring extended bump stops or rear travel increase bump stop sets to correctly limit suspension travel at the modified ride height.
• Applicable classic passenger and performance platforms requiring classic single-hump, round pull-through or triangular profile bump stop renewal.
• Any custom or non-platform-specific application requiring universal bump stops in bolt-through cylindrical, standard pair, ultra-low pair or disk pair profiles.

Installation and Support

Universal bump stops install at the front and rear chassis bump stop contact positions at the applicable axle, strut, lower control arm, upper strut or chassis mount location. Installation times range from under an hour for simple direct replacement kits to two hours for front upper bump stop installations requiring strut disassembly. Adjustable strut bump stops are set to the correct contact position at installation.

An installation guide is available for the rear axle bump stop kit for 4WD platforms. For additional technical assistance, a dedicated support team is available to confirm correct product selection and fitment for the specific platform, suspension travel range and ride height.

Repair and Upgrade

Universal bump stops are manufactured from polyurethane engineered to withstand the repeated compressive impact loads, UV exposure and environmental conditions that front and rear suspension bump stop positions are subject to throughout the vehicle's service life. Polyurethane maintains its progressive cushioning response for longer than factory rubber alternatives under the sustained compression cycling that bump stop positions experience, delivering consistent end-of-travel cushioning and chassis protection throughout the service life of the installation.

Who Universal Bump Stops Are For

Universal bump stops are a practical solution for:

• Professional shops completing suspension services and off-road vehicle preparation on applicable and universal platforms requiring front or rear bump stop renewal to restore correct end-of-travel cushioning and protect suspension and chassis components from direct impact at full compression.
• Lifted 4WD and truck owners requiring extended bump stops or axle bump stop sets to correctly limit suspension travel at the new ride height following a lift, preventing overtravel that damages shocks, driveline components and chassis hardware.
• Custom suspension builders and classic vehicle restorers requiring universal or classic-style bump stop profiles for non-platform-specific or period-correct bump stop renewal.

The right universal bump stop absorbs end-of-travel energy progressively, protects suspension and chassis components from direct metal contact at full compression, and delivers consistent cushioned end-of-travel behavior through every hard suspension input.
