NOLATHANE Axle Bushings with Fitting Position Front, Rear

Axle bushings are the polyurethane bushing kits used to replace worn rubber bushings at the pivot and chassis mounting positions of beam axle and solid axle suspension systems. On rear beam axle platforms, the bushing at each chassis mounting point is the primary means by which the beam is located laterally and longitudinally relative to the chassis, controlling rear axle position under braking, acceleration and cornering loads. On applicable platforms with solid rear axle suspension, the axle pivot bushing at the chassis mounting position controls the arc through which the axle moves under suspension travel, and its condition directly affects rear axle tracking, handling stability and NVH.

As axle bushings wear, increasing compliance at the chassis mounting interface allows the axle to shift under dynamic load, contributing to rear end wander, increased NVH, imprecise braking and handling inconsistency that progresses with continued use. The axle bushings range covers platform-specific rear beam axle bushing sets for applicable passenger platforms, axle pivot bushings in multiple profile variants for applicable RWD platforms, platform-specific axle pivot bushings, and universal pivot and link type bushing sets in dimensionally specified sizes for non-platform-specific axle bushing applications. All products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Why Upgrade Suspension?

Axle bushings on beam axle and solid rear axle platforms are among the highest-load bushing positions on the vehicle, operating under the combined lateral, longitudinal and vertical forces generated by every braking, acceleration and cornering input. Factory rubber axle bushings that have deteriorated beyond their designed compliance range allow measurable axle movement at the chassis mounting interface that directly degrades rear end handling stability, braking consistency and tire wear evenness.

On applicable rear beam axle passenger vehicles, worn beam bushings are a common cause of the rear end knocking, wandering and imprecise cornering behavior that is often attributed to other suspension faults before the bushings are correctly identified. On applicable RWD platforms, worn axle pivot bushings contribute to rear axle movement under power and braking that compounds with any other rear suspension wear present on the vehicle. Renewing axle bushings with correctly specified polyurethane alternatives restores correct axle location and compliance at every mounting position, immediately improving rear end stability, handling precision and NVH.

Axle Bushing Range

The axle bushing range includes:

• Rear Axle Beam Bushing Sets: Platform-specific polyurethane bushing sets for the rear beam axle chassis mounting positions on applicable passenger vehicles, renewing all beam axle bushing positions to restore correct rear axle location and handling precision.
• Beam Axle Rear Bushing Kits: Polyurethane bushing kits for the rear beam axle mounting positions on applicable passenger platforms where beam axle bushing renewal is required as a standalone service.
• Axle Pivot Bushings, Standard Profile: Polyurethane pivot bushing kits in a standard profile for the rear axle chassis pivot mounting position on applicable RWD passenger platforms.
• Axle Pivot Bushings, Alternative Profile: Polyurethane pivot bushing kits in an alternative profile for the rear axle chassis pivot mounting position on applicable RWD passenger platforms where the factory pivot bushing uses a non-standard bore design.
• Platform-Specific Axle Pivot Bushings: Polyurethane pivot bushing kits for the axle pivot mounting position on applicable RWD platforms requiring a platform-specific bushing profile.
• Universal Pivot Bushing Sets: Dimensionally specified polyurethane pivot bushing sets in OD, ID and length specifications for non-platform-specific axle pivot applications where the correct dimension matches the existing pivot bore.
• Universal Link Type Bushing Sets: Dimensionally specified polyurethane link type bushing sets for non-platform-specific axle link and pivot bushing applications in the applicable dimensions.

Why Purchase Axle Bushings?

Worn axle bushings are a frequently overlooked source of rear end instability and NVH that is often misattributed to wheel bearings, shocks or alignment before the bushings are correctly identified as the cause. Renewing them with correctly specified polyurethane alternatives restores correct axle location under dynamic load, eliminates the compliance that allows rear axle movement under power and braking, and delivers a noticeably more stable, precise and controlled rear end character from the moment of installation.

For workshops servicing applicable RWD and passenger platforms, axle bushing renewal is a straightforward and high-impact service that addresses a primary structural cause of rear end handling degradation at low parts cost and with a well-understood installation process. Universal pivot and link type bushing sets in dimensionally specified sizes provide the flexibility to address non-standard and custom axle pivot applications where no platform-specific kit is available.

Compatible Vehicles

Axle bushings are compatible with a wide range of vehicles, including:

• Applicable passenger vehicles with rear beam axle suspension requiring beam axle bushing renewal at the chassis mounting positions to restore correct rear axle location and eliminate rear end knock and handling imprecision.
• Applicable RWD passenger and performance vehicles requiring standard or alternative profile axle pivot bushing renewal at the chassis pivot mounting position to restore correct rear axle tracking and reduce rear end compliance under power and braking.
• Applicable RWD platforms requiring platform-specific axle pivot bushing renewal at the applicable chassis mounting position.
• Any vehicle requiring axle pivot or link type bushing renewal where the existing pivot bore dimensions match one of the available universal dimensional specifications and no platform-specific kit is required.

Installation and Support

Axle bushing kits are designed for installation at the front and rear axle pivot and chassis mounting positions on applicable platforms. Installation times range from under an hour for universal and single position kits to five hours for full beam axle bushing sets depending on the platform and number of bushing positions being renewed. Installation guides are available across most products. For additional technical assistance, a dedicated support team is available to confirm correct product selection, profile type and dimensional specification for the specific vehicle and axle mounting configuration.

Repair and Upgrade

Axle bushings are manufactured from high-strength polyurethane engineered to withstand the lateral, longitudinal and vertical loads, road shock and environmental exposure that axle pivot and beam mounting positions are subject to in everyday, performance and commercial use. Resistant to oil, heat and road contamination, polyurethane axle bushings maintain their compliance characteristics and axle location precision for longer than factory rubber alternatives, delivering more consistent rear suspension geometry and handling performance throughout their service life. All products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Who Axle Bushings Are For

Axle bushings are a practical solution for:

• Professional shops completing rear suspension servicing on applicable RWD and passenger platforms requiring correct axle pivot or beam axle bushing renewal to restore correct rear axle location and eliminate rear end instability and NVH.
• Performance and enthusiast vehicle owners on applicable RWD platforms renewing rear axle pivot bushings to reduce rear axle compliance under power and braking and improve rear end stability and cornering precision.
• DIY users and restoration builders requiring universal pivot or link type bushing sets in dimensionally specified sizes to complete non-standard or custom axle pivot applications where no platform-specific kit exists.
• Anyone experiencing rear end wander, increased NVH, imprecise cornering or braking inconsistency attributable to worn axle pivot or beam axle mounting bushings at the chassis interface on an applicable platform.

The right axle bushing kit restores correct axle location and compliance at every renewed mounting position, eliminates rear end movement and NVH, and delivers more stable, precise and confident rear suspension performance through every braking, acceleration and cornering input.
