Trailing Arm Bushing for 1985 Alfa Romeo GTV-6 2.5

Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Trailing arm bushings are the platform-specific polyurethane bushing kits used to replace worn rubber bushings at the front, rear, center pivot and upper mounting positions of the rear trailing arm. Trailing arms locate the rear wheel assembly longitudinally relative to the chassis, controlling fore and aft wheel position through the full suspension travel arc under acceleration, braking and cornering loads. On multi-link and independent rear suspension platforms, the trailing arm mounts at two or more chassis positions, with separate front and rear bushings that work together to maintain precise wheel location throughout the suspension travel range. On beam-type and independent platforms where the trailing arm uses a single large center pivot, the condition of that pivot bushing directly determines the longitudinal compliance of the entire rear wheel assembly.

As trailing arm bushings wear at any position, increasing longitudinal compliance introduces rear wheel geometry drift, handling imprecision, increased NVH and reduced braking stability that worsens progressively with continued use. Trailing arm bushing wear is a particularly common cause of rear end instability under braking and cornering that is frequently misattributed to tires or wheel alignment before the arm bushings are correctly identified. The range covers rear trailing arm bushing sets and kits, center pivot bushing kits in platform-specific and dimensionally specified OD variants, a center pivot service kit, trailing arm lower and upper front bushing kits, trailing arm rear and lower rear bushing kits, combined lower front and rear kits, and rear trailing arm forward bushing kits. All products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Installation guides are available across most products.

Why Upgrade Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Suspension?

Trailing arm bushing wear accumulates progressively under every acceleration, braking and cornering input throughout the vehicle's service life. On multi-link platforms where the arm mounts at front and rear chassis positions, wear at either end introduces geometry drift and compliance changes that affect the entire wheel's position under dynamic load. On platforms with a large center pivot trailing arm, wear at the pivot introduces increasing longitudinal compliance that directly degrades rear wheel location consistency and handling stability in a way that cannot be corrected through alignment adjustment alone.

Renewing Alfa Romeo GTV-6 trailing arm bushings with correctly specified polyurethane alternatives restores correct arm compliance at every mounting position, eliminating geometry drift and improving rear wheel location consistency under all dynamic loads. The improvement in rear end stability, braking precision and cornering confidence is immediately apparent and reflects the full benefit of a correctly located and correctly compliant rear suspension assembly from the moment of installation.

Why Purchase Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Trailing Arm Bushings?

Allowing worn trailing arm bushings to remain in service means the rear wheel assembly is operating without correct longitudinal location under dynamic load, allowing progressive geometry drift that degrades handling balance, braking stability and tire wear consistency with every mile driven. Renewing them with correctly specified polyurethane alternatives restores correct arm compliance and wheel location, eliminating the compliance drift that causes rear end instability and delivering a noticeably more stable, precise and controlled rear suspension character from the moment of installation.

For workshops completing rear suspension overhauls and high-mileage servicing on applicable platforms, Alfa Romeo GTV-6 trailing arm bushing renewal at all affected positions is a foundational step that addresses a primary structural cause of rear end handling degradation before other suspension component work is completed. Combined front and rear kits that address multiple positions simultaneously ensure the full longitudinal load path through the arm is restored to correct compliance in a single service.

Installation and Support

Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Trailing arm bushing kits are designed for installation at the front, rear, center pivot and upper chassis mount positions of the rear trailing arm. Installation times range from under an hour for simple single position bushing kits to four hours for full combined position kit installations depending on the platform and number of positions being renewed. Installation guides are available across most products. For additional technical assistance, a dedicated support team is available to confirm correct product selection and OD specification for the specific vehicle and trailing arm mount configuration.

Repair and Upgrade

Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Trailing arm bushings are manufactured from high-strength polyurethane engineered to withstand the longitudinal load, road shock, vibration and environmental exposure that trailing arm chassis mount positions are subject to in everyday and demanding use. Polyurethane maintains correct arm compliance and rear wheel location precision for longer than factory rubber alternatives, delivering more consistent rear suspension geometry and handling performance throughout the service life of the installation. All products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Who Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Trailing Arm Bushings Are For

Alfa Romeo GTV-6 Trailing arm bushings are a practical solution for:

• Professional shops completing rear suspension overhauls and servicing on applicable passenger and performance platforms requiring correct trailing arm bushing renewal at all front, rear, center pivot and upper mount positions to restore correct rear wheel longitudinal location before alignment and other suspension work is carried out.
• Performance and enthusiast vehicle owners renewing trailing arm bushings to restore or improve rear wheel geometry consistency, braking stability and cornering precision on applicable RWD and performance platforms.
• Experienced DIY users replacing worn trailing arm bushings to restore correct rear arm compliance, improve handling balance and reduce NVH and rear end instability under braking and cornering.

The right trailing arm bushing kit restores correct arm compliance and rear wheel longitudinal location at every renewed position, eliminates geometry drift and delivers more stable, precise and confident rear suspension performance through every braking and cornering input.
