Polyurethane Versus Rubber Leaf Spring Bushes

Most factory leaf spring bushes are bonded rubber. The rubber is fixed to both the inner sleeve and the outer shell, so as the spring moves, the rubber twists. Over time this repeated twisting, together with exposure to heat, oil, ozone and road grime, causes the rubber to crack, tear and separate.

Nolathane polyurethane bushes work differently. They are mechanically fitted with minimal crush, and the centre pin or sleeve is lubricated so the spring eye pivots freely around it. Because the bush is not being twisted with every movement, it lasts far longer and holds the spring and axle more accurately. Fitting Universal Leaf Spring Bushes
